SCIENCE FICTION FLICKS

1.      RAISED BY WOLVES

This is as far removed from reality as you can imagine. In this, androids are tasked to bring up human children, to what end? Don’t ask me yet, better still don’t hold your breath thinking I may find out. I do enjoy an odd flick now and then and yes I hope it will be entertaining.

So, shall we?

The start is intriguing albeit robotic, the turn of events was nothing that I had expected. For starters the name of the movie suggested that there would be real wolves, but no, they were androids that mimicked wolf sounds and evolved beyond thought. At the very least the robots and the flick in general had a sense of humor.

Can’t say that I really liked it but you be my guest.

2.      THE 100

This series went above and beyond my expectations. The fact that there was no visible character lead added to the excitement, wonder, intrigue and suspense. I loved that on here all bets were off. It was a masterpiece that I could get back to in the foreseeable future.

As the series progressed into its later series though, I was thoroughly disappointed when they added in technology in a non-imaginative way. It took the mystique out of it.

Still, it was quite something.

3.      LOST

This one, I can call the greatest of all time. Every character brought with them so much more and then Hugo brought much much more.

It will leave you at the edge of your sit throughout all its 4 seasons. Once in a while I leaf around to see if they’ve made anything like it again. It’s quite a unicorn in itself, kind of like “Prison Break”. Fantastic, can’t try and make another. You just leave it as a master piece.

The ending though…

4.      FOREVER

You will be left wondering, what did I just see.

What was the point of all that, I for one kept waiting for a premise. Never found one and if it was there I missed it entirely. If you happen to check this out and get what it is about, please enlighten me.

I’ll say I put it here because despite my findings at the end, I did watch every last one of its episodes. Kind of like “second chance” another one that left me boggled.

Don’t let me keep you.

5.      COLONY

This is another one that left me wide eyed. Couldn’t go on past the first season but since it went on past season 3, then maybe there is something I missed but wouldn’t want you to miss out on a good sci/fi just because I couldn’t wrap my head around it.

Who knows, I can’t lie to you about it but for all I know it may be just down your alley.

6.      TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES

I truly loved, it could have gone on and on and I would keep watching.

Every character was in their A game but the one I loved most was Sarah Connor. I know the love of a mother is something out of this world but in the movie world this mother had love and capability to boost.

I can assure you, you will find it quite hard to find a flick mother like her in most if not all other movies.

A master piece of its time it was. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

7.      THE TOMORROW WAR

Sometimes we are so engulfed in the series world that we forget there are mind boggling movies out there. This is one of them and am glad I found it.

The cinema, character play, effects, are more than you can hope for they are just tremendously futuristic. I played from minute seven more than five times because now, that is a work of art. (Ever wondered why when you rewind a portion in a movie so much sometimes the nitty gritty of it get away from you, maybe the brain goes like “we still doing this, yeah! Am taking time out, will be right here when you done”)

Well, I won’t keep you from this master piece.

8.      INTO THE BADLANDS

Started out normally as you would expect samurai movies to, though with an element that reminded me of “Hunger games” The first few seasons were incredible.

Then they introduced this dark theme that had everything go sideways.

Be the Judge.

9.      HUNGER GAMES

Now these movies were superb. I watched each as it came out and then had a marathon of them all after they were completed.

There are 4, “The Hunger Games”, “The Hunger Games catching fire”, “The Hunger Games: mockingjay-part1” & “The Hunger Games: mockingjay-part 2”.

I know I will go back and do another marathon sometime in the foreseeable future.

They are just epic.

10.  MAZE RUNNERS

Another set of movies that had me counting months to the next one.

Of course me being me, I set my family on a marathon with me for this one and the one above during the quarantine times. We had a blast for 2 consecutive days along with my then 11-year-old niece. Those were the days when bathroom breaks had to be timed so that we could all pause and get it where we left off.

So far, there are 3, “The Maze Runner”, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials”, & “Maze runner: The death Cure”

Those were the times, will do it again. Great things need revisiting.

NB: PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE GREAT WATCHOFF.

Like if you can, Thank you.

KINGSMAN FILM SERIES.

This is a set of films that will leave you excited, happy and thrilled.

It like the James bond but without many penny.

1.       KINGSMAN THE SECRET SERVICE (2014)

When I first saw this, I had no clue that it was the beginning of master pieces in action and espionage. Total and utter film honey. Mm, mm, mm, the action movies that Britain make. They ooze gentlemen, finesse, strength and character and this one is no different.

It’s like being steeped in dukes and earls, only here it’s all modern and macho.

Loved it. “Man maketh money, money maketh man mad”

2.       KING’SMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE (2017)

What’s not to love about seeing the next generation prosper and do so in a spectacular manner.

This, I would be lying if I said I was not excited when it came out, and boy oh boy! It did not disappoint. You expect the second movie in most not to be good as the first but no sir, not this one, it simply blew me away.

Ezzy my boy.

3.       THE KING’S MAN

I had no idea this one was in the works but I was pleasantly surprised and now that I do also excited.

Let me take a look at it good folk and will be sure to bring in the verdict.

I must have spoken too early there for this one. What in tarnation is this, a period drama? What a great let down, why would they take us to the dark ages here, yeah, yeah, don’t give me a lesson on history, after the previous ones they do this.

Am disappointed, I couldn’t even finish it, who does that…

Just, a waste of my time. An hour and twenty some minutes I’ll never get back. Kept telling myself, it will get better, look at how good the other two turned out, pthooo!

Argh! Frustrating that’s what this is.

I will stop here because I don’t curse.

xXx Movies Review

Have I said that this guy knows how to pick movies to stir in.  If not, now I have and if yes, I’ll say it again.

His character just Keeps growing like fine wine. Let’s explore the Xander Cage series and find out if It’s good. I might have watched one of the movies already but am repeating them systematically for a clean fresh perspective and for you.

Oh! By the way, in case you were wondering who this guy is, his name is Vin Diesel. Hear me out here, after watching the beginning of the second movie, Ice cube has got to be up here too, (Let’s not argue). Samuel L Jackson is a no brainer, has to be here, has to be here.

1.       xXx (2002)

Once again, such a beautiful show, I had actually forgotten Samuel L Jackson was in this movie, who does that! I know right.

And this villain (Marton Csokas) played it so beautifully that you cannot fault or hate him.

Master piece, yea.

Out of this world, yes… for the year it was produced the cinematography is very very good.

Will I watch it again, DEFINITELY.

Will you watch it? You know, it’s not like am running an ad or something.

Something makes you happy share, share anyway if you can, it’s no biggy.

2.       xXx: STATE OF THE UNION (2005)

The first one was perfect so we (I) get to see the second yes folks? of course.

Will be back here with some grab on this one (Rubbing my hands together)

So, the man with a lot more attitude starts the show. Am happy to report its as crazy as we “I” expected. Guns blazing, attitude and all but it lacked finesse.

Pop some corn or whatever you do and get to it, if something like this is your cup of tea that is.

See you on the other side.

3.       xXx: RETURN OF XANDER CAGE.

This better be good as we advance I keep expecting more, If nothing else the cinematography should be out of this world because of the years of/in difference from the other two.

So, am going to stop yapping and go see what’s up, this better be good to me. Now this cast, is what am talking about. Won’t even bother writing names on this one because if I do, we are going to be here all day/night depending on when you get around to seeing this.

Am expecting to be left in a puff of smoke or dusty after the thorough job I expect they shall do on screen. That said, I’ll be back in a few.

I did like it, a little bit more than the second one I admit but the first one downright charmed me.

There you have it…Have at it…

Share folks

See you later God willing.

BRIDGERTON SEASON 2

BRIDGERTON SEASON 2

Finally, into Shondaland here we come. Having read all the books except the last one, I couldn’t wait to see how they bring out the second book in this series. Have I seen it yet? Nope. DO I expect it to be really good? Hello, of course I do. I’d love to stay and talk but this will have to wait a bit, I cannot wait any longer. I’ll be back here sooner than you know. We have to talk about this anyway. Until then folks.

Eloise ever the perky lady, didn’t disappoint. When is season 3 coming out, never mind, am not even 20 minutes into season 2, figures. The way Lady Danbury stares at newton, Okay, Kate I’ll give you feisty as your middle name. Episode 1 done, not disappointed yet, as a matter of fact I really enjoyed it immensely. Rubbing my hands together for episode 2.

Do try not to stumble on the starting line, welcome to the ton, the season is aflame. The diamond of the season, picked, bachelors sharpening everything in their tool box, no pun intended, lest they get thwarted from their goal. May the best man win, or is it? You tell me, may very well be may the best lady win. Everyone has put their best foot forward.

Am here wondering, where are my potato chips, oh, here they are… going back in.

And the plot thickens. Well I guess marriage means losing your mallet, in this case.

I will leave the rest to your imagination dear reader.

Done and dusted in no time, I felt though like there were some sluggishness along the way that might have been done away with? Or is it the suspense that was killing me to find out what next? I may never know.

Don’t let my musings keep you, up and at ‘em you go.

Share if you will.

MOST POPULAR WEREWOLVES MOVIES AND SERIES

MOST POPULAR WEREWOLVES MOVIES AND SERIES

1.      WEREWOLVES WITHIN (2021)

It starts out looking all boring and dreary and then suddenly, it’s not. Looks like this good old sleepy town stuck in a time warp with friendly folks and the normal everyday drill/ motions like a well-oiled machine.

On a closer look you start seeing these weird habits in people (which I recon the more you know any one the more of their funny / “normal” habits you become privy to in time anyway).

The movie was weird but I liked it at the end.

2.      UNDERWORLD

This is another series of movies that is all kinds of out there, again this one cannot be replicated with the same kind of effect.

You will find that It’s in its own class really and also an acquired taste. Not much to say but dive in and find out for yourself. Mine is to hunt them for you and yours is to pick the one you like.

3.      TEENWOLF

The start of this one was ever so promising and intriguing, then they brought in other things that were a bit too much for yours truly.

I chose to leave it be just as I did for “Grimm”, some are a little too much for my peace of mind, however you can choose not to take a word I said/wrote seriously and venture in.

4.      TWILIGHT

Yes, yes I know it also has vampires in it but the 5 or so movies are captivating to say the least.

Wouldn’t have been right not to put this on here, Jacob was a pretty good wolf and the movies were really good. I’ve repeated the whole series of movies at least three times that I could remember. That good, yes if you are sucker for romance.

5.      THE ORIGINALS

I know I said wolves but this one had Hailey and her clan in it, so I deem it fit to warrant a mention here and it outdid itself in performance as well.

The writer, screen play, everyone involved really went ahead and knocked that ball out of the park big time.

Epic.

6.      AMONG THE SHADOWS

A private investigator searches for her uncle’s killers all the while hiding the fact that she is descended from a long line of werewolves.

7.      WILDLING

It’s starts out as creepily as can be told and demonstrated, at least for a child. If bed time stories are to be told like this, then if I were a child I’d have to take a hard pass. What in the world!

The bush agenda in this girl’s childhood was achieved to a T.

Yes, I did finish the movie, did I see the point? Frankly, No.

There, you have it.

8.      LEGACIES

If you Liked the originals, you might want to follow it up with legacies because this one is about Hailey’s and Nicklaus’s daughter.

Of course, If you watched “Vampire diaries”, you will be glad to know that there is a Salvatore school in it.

Yeah, you are welcome.

9.      RED RIDING HOOD

If you have read the little red riding hood, or heard the stories then there is no need for any further explanations. It may not be exactly like the childhood story but it follows the same rules albeit a bit removed and a theme or two added.

ALPHA WOLF

ALPHA WOLF

…of book reviews #3

Kindle edition 120 pages

Published December 15th 2021

Edition Language English

Series Silver coast wolves #1

I gave it two stars  (2/5) because I still wanted to get to the end somehow.

I am no writer but as a reader I found a few lags in the story, there were also brilliant patches in it that felt like could have been prolonged.

Well, the character name repetition felt tiring to read, the book itself was not bad but the romantic scenes were just too pedestrian for me, the beautiful love the writer was building upon felt cheapened by the words used when it all came to culmination... made it feel like pornography at some point.

I still did finish the book though. That says something alright. I feel sad that I will not be reading the next.

So if you are planning on reading it, I would suggest you do and form your own opinion.

Happy reading.

HANNA

Have I told you about Hanna the series? Here is another one that I could go out of breath gushing about. I have seen season 1 and it...
